Hosted by Light Gallery + MacKenzie Westra
Day 1 // Tuesday, June 19th 6 to 9PM
Day 2 // Tuesday, June 26th 6 to 9PM
This two-day weaving workshop is designed to build upon the Tapestry Weaving for Beginners workshop. Take your designs to the next level in a big way - this class will give you instruction and time for focused work and design elements.
In addition to using skills learned in Tapestry Weaving for Beginners, you will be working on a larger loom, learning new types of stitching, and experimenting with new materials. At the beginning of the class, we will have design time on paper with watercolors to get feedback from fellow weavers to refine our designs. You will leave the class with a weaving about 18 X 24" large.
Students are encouraged to bring their own materials to experiment with, or yarns that you specifically want in your piece. Yarns and dowels will be provided, but if you would like to experiment with fabrics, ropes, sticks, roving, or specified yarns - feel free to bring some to the class.
